Rays of Light Ministry to Children with Special Needs
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” - Matt 5:16
Rays of Light Ministry exists to serve the Lord, the church, those with special needs, and their families.
Our vision is to:
Provide the opportunity for those with special needs to grow physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.
Provide respite for the family.
Make ministry with families experiencing a disability a natural part of the church life, not a special one.
Show the love of Jesus Christ and present the message of salvation to everyone.
These past four years we implemented several successful programs that embraced children with special needs and their families in the greater community.

Night Lights
Rays of Light Ministry has been providing a respite night on the first Friday of each month from 6 to 10pm for parents who encounter the daily challenges of caring for their children with special needs.
Our staff includes volunteers as well as paid medical personnel. We offer individual and group activities to meet the needs and interests of the children, a supportive environment for siblings to help them cope with their brother’s or sister’s challenges, and providing children with appropriate toys and materials to enhance development and skills across a wide range of modalities.
Our goal for the upcoming year is to be able to serve more families, particularly families with children who are medically fragile, and increase our volunteer base. Our hope is to reach more families who cannot afford any type of respite services. This program welcomes children from any faith or culture.

Guiding Lights
Guiding Lights is helping to eliminate barriers that prevent participation in Sunday school and other programs. Rays Of Light Ministry is providing a “buddy” for any child with special needs, if needed, medical supervision for children who are medically fragile, interpreters for children who are deaf or children who need assistance with communicating, and providing materials and support that allows the child to be an active participant in the Sunday school.
