| PARENTS MEETING FOR ALL PARENTS! September 9th (Room 116 10:15 – 10:40) |
| Make sure to pick up a 2007-2008 calendar for your fridge |

| AWANA is starting up on September 5th. Make sure you register your child on our website www.llumc.org. (Scroll down to “Open Registrations” and click on AWANA) AWANA is our Bible based Wednesday Night Program |
| 4th grade Bible celebration will be on September 16th; if you have a 4th grader – make sure you fill outthe paperwork, so your child will receive his/her Bible (and be able to go on the retreat Oct 4-6). |
| Volunteer needs for the fall: |
| Bulletin Board volunteer: I need 1-2 people to help change out one Bulletin Board for the year (Sept – May); I have all of the ideas all picked out – all you would need to do is pull the materials together and put it up -- I would like to have a great “first impression” to our visitors all year long |
| AWANA: My hope is that I can have 4-5 people in each of these positions, that way you would only work once a minimester for 1.5 each time; |
| Secretary: this person will take attendance of the kids; help keep all of the rewards current; check in with the teachers (I will be teaching the Kindergartners this year on Wednesdays – therefore I need these volunteers to help me with this) |
| Gym helper: this person will help Scott in the gym facilitating the games and making gym time a fun experience; Scott comes up with the games – you would just need to show up and help! Super fun!! – GREAT opportunity for DAD’S |
| 3’s cubbies teacher: I would like a team of 2 people for this job; they would teach the 3 yr olds
for a mini-mester. working every other week. |
| TWIST Sunday School Shepherd: I need 3- 1st grade shepherds; you would work 2 weeks a month (Sept – May); never teach a lesson – just get to know the kids and help them in class; |
| We still need TWIST and Preschool teachers for the fall! If you are interested please email me and I will let you know what we have available; TWIST is on a month rotation (teach the same lesson for 4 weeks and then be done); preschool you are on a team of 4 people and you teach twice a month; |

| Playground Construction |
| A new playground for the church is being constructed. The location is the same but the perimeter fencing must be changed to accommodate some expansion of Northwest Highway. The Texas Dept of Transportation purchased a right of way from the church to create a right turn lane from NW Highway to Inwood road. Our playground was in need of some updating so we have taken this opportunity to build a totally new play area for our children. The total cost of the project ($450,000) will be provided by the TXDOT purchase funds, and a $150,000 gift from The Weekday School. The anticipated completion date is in October, so our children will soon have an outstanding play area. |

| This year, Kids Choirs will explore music in a new way! We are excited to offer a chance for kids not only to learn about music but also to learn about worship: what does worship mean? Why do we worship? How do we worship? How do other people worship? |
| Alleluias (4&5 year-olds) will rehearse during 9:30 Sunday school (no need to register). |
| Angel Chorus (grades 1-3) will rehearse Sundays during the 11:00 service in E112. Celebration Singers (grades 4-6) will rehearse Sundays from 8:45 to 9:30 in E112. |
| Registration: Sundays on the plaza. Rehearsals begin Sunday, September 9th. |
